QESCO Bill Calculator 2026: Estimate Your Electricity Bill in Seconds
The QESCO bill calculator on this page helps you estimate your monthly electricity bill before the paper bill reaches your door. Enter the units you used, choose your consumer type and see an instant breakdown of energy charges, fixed charges, surcharges and GST.
Many families in Quetta, Turbat, Khuzdar and other parts of Balochistan are surprised when the bill arrives. One extra unit can move a home from one slab to another and the bill can jump by hundreds of rupees. This guide explains the 2026 slab rates, how each charge works and how to use the QESCO bill calculator to plan your usage.
Quick note: The figures below are based on the NEPRA domestic tariff notified in February 2026 (S.R.O. 279(I)/2026) and adjustments announced up to October 2026. Treat the result as an estimate. Your actual bill is always the final word.

How to Use the QESCO Bill Calculator
- Select your consumer type. If your home stayed at or below 200 units every month for the last six months, choose Protected.
- Enter the units consumed. Subtract the previous reading from the present reading printed on your bill.
- Enter your sanctioned load in kW. You will find it on the bill under “Sanctioned Load”. Most homes have 1 to 5 kW.
- Keep the default adjustment of Rs 1.63 per unit, or change it if a new FPA is announced.
- Press Calculate Bill to see the full breakdown.
The QESCO bill calculator rounds amounts to the nearest rupee. Small differences can appear because of meter reading days, arrears, or a different adjustment rate in your billing month.
QESCO Unit Rates 2026 (Domestic Slabs)
Every QESCO bill calculator depends on the correct slab rates. The table below shows the base domestic rates that apply to QESCO and the other government-owned distribution companies in 2026. These rates do not include taxes or adjustments.
| Units per month | Protected (Rs/unit) | Non-protected (Rs/unit) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 100 | 10.54 | 22.44 |
| 101 to 200 | 13.01 | 28.91 |
| 201 to 300 | Not applicable | 33.10 |
| 301 to 400 | Not applicable | 36.46 |
| 401 to 500 | Not applicable | 38.95 |
| 501 to 600 | Not applicable | 40.22 |
| 601 to 700 | Not applicable | 41.85 |
| Above 700 | Not applicable | 47.20 |

Lifeline consumers pay Rs 3.95 per unit up to 50 units and Rs 7.74 per unit from 51 to 100 units. Lifeline consumers are also exempt from fixed charges and fuel adjustments.
Protected vs Non-Protected Consumers
A protected consumer is a household that used 200 units or less in each of the last six months. These homes pay the lowest rates and also get the benefit of one previous slab. For example, a protected home using 150 units pays the first 100 units at Rs 10.54 and the next 50 units at Rs 13.01.
Non-protected consumers do not get this benefit. All units are charged at the rate of the slab you reach. If you use 300 units, all 300 units are charged at Rs 33.10. This is why crossing a slab can raise the bill so sharply. The QESCO bill calculator above follows this rule automatically.
Important: If a protected home crosses 200 units even once, it loses protected status. It must stay at or below 200 units for six months in a row to get it back.
Fixed Charges on QESCO Bills
Since February 2026, domestic consumers pay a monthly fixed charge for each kW of sanctioned load. Lifeline homes are exempt. The amount depends on your slab.
| Consumer and slab | Fixed charge (Rs per kW per month) |
|---|---|
| Protected, up to 100 units | 200 |
| Protected, 101 to 200 units | 300 |
| Non-protected, up to 100 units | 275 |
| Non-protected, 101 to 200 units | 300 |
| Non-protected, 201 to 300 units | 350 |
| Non-protected, 301 to 400 units | 400 |
| Non-protected, 401 to 500 units | 500 |
| Non-protected, above 500 units | 675 |
A home with 2 kW sanctioned load using 250 units pays 2 x Rs 350 = Rs 700 in fixed charges. That is why our QESCO bill calculator asks for your sanctioned load.

Other Charges and Taxes on Your Bill
Energy and fixed charges are only part of the story. A few more lines appear on almost every bill.
FC Surcharge
The Financing Cost (FC) surcharge is Rs 3.23 per unit. It applies to all domestic consumers except lifeline users.
Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA)
The FPA changes every month. It reflects the gap between the reference fuel cost and the actual fuel cost two months earlier. For October 2026 bills, NEPRA allowed Rs 1.11 per unit. Lifeline consumers do not pay the FPA.
Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA)
The QTA is added for three months at a time. Bills for September, October and November 2026 carry a positive adjustment of about Rs 0.52 per unit.
General Sales Tax (GST)
GST of 18% is charged on the total of energy charges, fixed charges, surcharges and adjustments. Electricity duty and the PTV fee are no longer collected through electricity bills since July 2025.
Income Tax
Consumers who are not on the FBR Active Taxpayer List may pay advance income tax of 7.5% when the monthly bill crosses Rs 25,000. Filers do not pay this tax.
QESCO Bill Examples by Units
The table below shows estimates from our QESCO bill calculator with adjustments of Rs 1.63 per unit. Use it as a quick reference.
| Units | Consumer type | Load | Estimated bill |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | Protected | 1 kW | Rs 2,053 |
| 150 | Protected | 1 kW | Rs 3,225 |
| 200 | Protected | 1 kW | Rs 4,279 |
| 150 | Non-protected | 1 kW | Rs 6,331 |
| 250 | Non-protected | 2 kW | Rs 12,024 |
| 300 | Non-protected | 2 kW | Rs 14,263 |
| 301 | Non-protected | 2 kW | Rs 15,619 |
| 400 | Non-protected | 2 kW | Rs 20,446 |
Look at 300 and 301 units. One extra unit adds about Rs 1,350 because all units move to a higher rate and the fixed charge also rises. Watching your meter near the end of the month can save real money.
Worked Example: 250 Units, Non-Protected
Here is how the QESCO bill calculator reaches Rs 12,024 for 250 units on a 2 kW connection:
- Energy charges: 250 x Rs 33.10 = Rs 8,275
- Fixed charges: 2 kW x Rs 350 = Rs 700
- FC surcharge: 250 x Rs 3.23 = Rs 807.50
- FPA + QTA: 250 x Rs 1.63 = Rs 407
- Subtotal: Rs 10,189.50
- GST at 18%: Rs 1,834.11
- Estimated total: about Rs 12,024
Why Your Real Bill May Differ
No QESCO bill calculator can match your printed bill to the last rupee. Here are the common reasons:
- Billing days: Readings taken after 31 or 32 days add extra units.
- Arrears: Unpaid amounts from earlier months are added to the current bill.
- Changing adjustments: The FPA can be positive or negative and changes every month.
- Installments and deferred amounts: Some bills carry instalments of earlier charges.
- Late payment surcharge: Paying after the due date adds an extra amount.

Tips to Reduce Your QESCO Bill
Using a QESCO bill calculator is the first step. The next step is keeping units under control.

- Stay below 200 units: This keeps you protected and saves thousands of rupees a month.
- Check the meter weekly: Note the reading every Friday so you know where you stand before the month ends.
- Use inverter appliances: Inverter ACs, fridges and fans use far fewer units.
- Switch to LED lights: An LED bulb uses a fraction of the power of an old bulb.
- Avoid heavy load at peak time: Run water pumps, irons and washing machines in the day where possible.
- Fix wiring faults: Earth leakage and old wiring waste electricity every hour.
Pay Your Bill on Time
Once you know your amount, pay it before the due date to avoid a surcharge. You can pay your QESCO bill online through JazzCash, Easypaisa or any banking app in a few minutes.
